Open Windows, Doors Cited in Rash of Burglaries

The following information was reported by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department

East Lark Ave., Fenton

Jewelry and a digital camera were stolen March 30 in a burglary on East Lark Ave., Fenton. Missing were three wedding rings, 15 Pairs of earrings, 2 class rings and a digital camera. The value of the items was set at $3,000.  Entry to the home was made through an unlocked ground floor bedroom window.

Creek Drive, Fenton

A TV and a purse containing $9 were stolen sometime overnight between Apr. 2-3 from the living room of a home on Creek Drive, Fenton. Missing were a Sanyo 42-inch flatscreen TV and the purse, which also contained miscellaneous credit cards. The value of the items was set at $600. Entry to the home was mafde through an unlocked front door.

London Circle, Fenton

A 2002 Ford F-150 pickup truck was stolen April 4 from a home on London Circle, Fenton. The black with gold trim short-bed pickup was a 4-door model, valued at $15,000.

Flint Drive, Fenton

An envelope containing $300 turned up missing March 26 from a bedroom of a home on Flint Drive, Fenton. The homeowner said he returned home in the evening to discover boards were missing that he used to prop open a bedroom window. He told a deputy he also discovered a door lock to his girlfriend's room had been broken and the envelope containing the money was missing. The only sign of forced entry was the broken lock on the bedroom door.

High Ridge Blvd., High Ridge

While on patrol March 31, a sheriff's deputy noticed damage to the front door of a business on High Ridge Blvd., High Ridge. The deputy said he saw a large hole in the front entry door and a large rock laying on the floor inside among shards of glass from the broken window in the front door. The deputy notified the business owner and collected evidence at the business. There are no suspects in the incident. The amount of damage to the front door was set at $600.

Lavernal Drive, Fenton

Electrical wire and tools were missing following a burglary that occurred sometime March 28-29 at a home on Lavernal Drive, Fenton. The male homeowner told a deputy that he left the residence at 8:30 p.m. March 28 and all windows and doors were secured. When the female homeowner returned at noon the next day, she said she noticed a patio door screen was missing and the patio door open. Missing from the home was various rolls of wire, a SawzAll tool and a metal grounding rod. There are two suspects in the incident.
