Fleeing Motorcyclist Crashes Bike on Romaine Creek Road

Romaine Creek Road, Fenton

A motorcyclist, apparently fleeing police, crashed Sept. 18 on Romaine Creek Road near Crimson Oaks Drive, in Fenton. The deputy who was attempting a traffic stop contacted EMS when he discovered the motorcycle, a 2003 Honda CBR, and the motorcyclist laying on the road following a crash. The deputy also located a stolen handgun, a meth lab and another controlled substance. The motorcycle had been stolen.

The incident began when a deputy attempted to stop the motorcyclist after he failed to use a turn signal when he made a turn from Romaine Creek Road onto Green Creek Drive. When the deputy activated his lights and sirens, the motorcyclist fled south on Romaine Creek Road. The deputy lost sight of the motorcyclist for a time, but then observed both the motorcycle and motorcyclist laying in the roadway of Romaine Creek Road, south of Konert Road. The deputy called EMS and began rendering aid until EMS transported the motorcyclist to the hospital. Upon investigating the scene, the deputy discovered the stolen handgun, the meth lab and the other controlled substance.

W. Lark Drive, Fenton

Two pickup trucks and a trailer were stolen Sept. 17 from a business on N. Lark Drive, Fenton. Missing are a blue and silver 1999 Ford F-250, and a white 1999 Ford F-250, as well as a white Trailers USA trailer with an Onsite custom decal. The values of the property was set at $24,000. The sheriff's report stated that the person who reported the thefts said two people walked onto the business property, entered the two vehicles and drove them off. The trailer was attached to one of the trucks when it was stolen. Sheriff's deputies were able to obtain information about the thefts from a surveillance video taken by  security camera at a nearby business, which captured video footage of the incident.
