Rockwood Students 'Shop With a Cop'

St. Louis County Police officers took kids shopping this holiday season to help them buy gifts for themselves and their families.

St. Louis County Police West County Precinct school resource officers chose 15 kids from the Parkway, Rockwood and Valley Park School districts to participate in holiday program to secure gifts.

St. Louis County Police officers started Saturday, Dec. 16, with a breakfast for the kids at the Elks Lodge in Manchester.

St. Louis County Police Department officers teamed up with the Elks Lodges from Manchester, Ellisville and St. Louis to help raise money so children from West St. Louis County could go shopping with an officer at an area store of their choice on Dec. 16.

Police said the Elks raised $1,500 and gave 15 students a $100 gift card each to “Shop With a Cop” for personal Christmas Gifts.

Kids purchased presents for their families during the annual "Shop with a Cop" event. Many of the kids also received gift cards to use for presents for themselves, organizers said.
