Rash of Thefts from Unlocked Vehicles Reported in San Simeon

The following information was provided by the St. Louis County Police Department Fenton Precinct.

Gravois Bluffs

A man was arrested May 27 on child abuse charges at the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in the 100 block of Gravois Bluffs Boulevard. Police said the man, while at the restaurant with his three year-old daughter, was highly intoxicated and under the influence of drugs. The man then left his daughter unattended as he went to the restroom. While he was being placed under arrest he told officers that he walked to the restaurant with his daughter along the shoulder of Highway 141, police said.

Police are investigating a May 26 allegation of an assault in the parking lot of the former Linens “N” Things store in the 100 block of Gravois Bluffs Boulevard. Police said a suspect was taking photographs of a nearby job site and that the alleged victim used his body to block the suspect’s vehicle until officers arrived. Police said as the suspect attempted to leave he struck the victim with his vehicle, which was traveling at five miles per hour or less. The investigation is continuing, police said.

A woman was arrested May 25 for stealing under $500 at the Gordman's store in the 600 block of Gravois Bluffs Boulevard. Police said the woman left the store without paying for three items of clothing hidden in her purse.

A woman was arrested May 23 for stealing at the Kohl's store in the 100 block of Gravois Bluffs Boulevard.  Police said the woman left the store without paying for $800 worth of perfume hidden in her purse.

San Simeon subdivision

Police are investigating several thefts from vehicles in the San Simeon subdivision since May 24. Police said an unknown suspect stole miscellaneous items from the interiors of several unlocked vehicles.

Bowles Avenue

Police are investigating a May 27 report of an assault at the Motel 6 in the 1800 block of Bowles Avenue. Police said two people were involved in a physical altercation after arguing about a job.

Axminster Drive

A sanitation truck driver was issued a summons May 24 for violating a Fenton ordinance in the 200 block of Axminister Drive. Police said the truck driver was in violation of an ordinance restricting  trash hauling between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for areas south of South Highway Drive.
