The St. Louis County Tactical Unit was called in to arrest the man.

A man faces criminal charges for slamming a door on his girlfriend’s arm and then barricading himself in a Fenton motel room to prevent police from arresting him.

Bryan Thomas, 27, was charged Tuesday with second-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest.

St. Louis County Police said Thomas slammed a motel door on his girlfriend’s arm Monday, injuring her at the Rodeway Inn and Suites, 1860 Bowles Ave. in Fenton.

When police arrived and told Thomas he was under arrest, he went back inside the motel room, slammed the door and barricaded it with the room’s refrigerator, according to a police report.

Police said Thomas taunted them and made an obscene gesture from inside the room. The St. Louis County Tactical Unit was brought in and Thomas was arrested.
