Man Found Dead in Burning High Ridge Home

The man's body was discovered early Tuesday morning.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is investigating after a man's body was found in a burning home this morning in High Ridge. 

The two-alarm blaze was reported about 4 a.m. Tuesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, on Ridge Road near New Sugar Creek Road. 

High Ridge Fire Protection District Capt. Blair Smith told the Post the fire was brought under control within a half-hour.

The body of a man, believed to be in his early 20s, was found in the home. Authorities are working to confirm the man's identity.
