Man Fights Officer, Tries to Grab His Handgun, Police Say

Cody Arnold struggled with the officer following a stop after a license plate check indicated no record on file.

St. Louis County Police said a 19-year-old DeSoto man struggled with an officer and tried to grab the officer’s firearm Feb. 18 in Fenton.

Cody Arnold, 19, of the 2100 block of Big River Trails in DeSoto, was charged Tuesday with assaulting a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

St. Louis County Police said an officer ran a license plate check on a vehicle and received a “No record on file” response.  The officer pulled over the vehicle driven by Arnold in the 1400 block of Ivy View Court in Fenton, according to a police report.
