Man Arrested After Firing Shots at St. Louis County Police Officer
The 36-year-old was pulled over on Interstate 44 at the Eureka city limit, police say. He fired three-to-five shots into the officer's car and then led police on a chase that ended in the Fenton/Valley Park area.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested after firing shots at a St. Louis County police officer and then leading police on a chase on Eastbound Interstate 44.
An officer from the department's West County Precinct attempted to stop a Jeep Grand Cherokee for speeding Tuesday afternoon on Eastbound I-44 at the Eureka city limit, St. Louis County police say.
The driver pulled over, police say. But as the officer attempted to exit his vehicle, three-to-five shots were fired out of the suspect’s vehicle through the back windshield and into the officer’s car.

Afterward, the suspect sped off on Eastbound I-44 and led police on a chase that ended about a mile west of Highway 141 when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the center median, police say. Neither the officer nor the driver were injured.
