Jefferson County Law Enforcement to Honor its Fallen Heroes Wednesday
Prayer breakfast and memorial ceremony will honor those who have paid the ultimate price as they served and protected.
The public is invited to the annual prayer breakfast and and memorial service to recognize those peace officers in Jefferson County who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
The ceremony will be at the law enforcement Officers Memorial site in Hillsboro. the memorial honors law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty. Each year on May 15 the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department hosts a ceremony ceremony at the memorial site.
The memorial was announced on Police Memorial Day (May 15) in 2001. Construction of the memorial itself was paid for though public donations and other fund-raising activities.
