I-44 Vehicle Crash Occurs After Man Swerves to Avoid Deer
A House Springs woman received moderate injuries in an early Thursday morning accident on Interstate 44 near Eureka.
A 28-year-old House Springs woman was taken to Mercy Hospital for moderate injuries after the sports utility vehicle she was in overturned at 4:10 a.m. Thursday on Interstate 44 near Eureka.
Rene Harrison was a passenger in a 2002 Chevrolet Tracker, which was driven by Union resident Anthony Sansone.
Sansone is 25 years old. He was driving westbound on I-44, east of mile marker 259.4, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, when he said he swerved to the left to avoid a deer in the roadway.

Sansone's SUV then struck the concrete median wall, and overturned on the right side.
Both SUV occupants were wearing seat belts, officials stated. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment by the Eureka Fire Protection Department emergency crew.

The SUV was totaled and towed from the accident scene by Eureka-based Hyndrich Brothers Towing.
No other vehicles or motorists were involved in this accident.
