House Springs Woman Dead in Hwy 30 Accident
Janet Holdcraft died and two others were injured in a collision involving a tire truck in Fenton on Monday morning.
A 78-year-old woman was pronounced dead following a two-car accident on Hwy 30 in Fenton on Monday morning, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Janet Holdcraft, of House Springs, was headed westbound on Hwy 30 near Delores Drive around 10 a.m. when she began traveling over the median and into eastbound lanes. Melvin Myers, 66, of Festus, attempted to steer his diesel truck out of the way to avoid a collision, but was unable to do so. The truck struck the front driver's side of Holdcraft's car, causing the truck to overturn.
The truck was carrying a load of tires, according to reports from KSDK and Fenton-High Ridge Patch Facebook readers who witnessed the aftermath.
Holdcraft was pronounced dead at 10:12 a.m., according to the report. Myers and a passenger, Scott Bone of Perryville, Mo., were transported to St. Anthony's Hospital with minor injuries.
Both vehicles were totaled, according to the report.
