House Springs Man's Stolen Stereo, Vintage Coins End Up at Pawn Shop

In another Jefferson County Sheriff's report, a mom looking after her deceased son's home noticed several items missing.

Vintage currency pawned from House Springs home

A House Springs man’s son pawned vintage currency, and stole prescription drugs, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The man, who lives on Lower Grove, said a car stereo, 10 vintage silver dollars, a roll of vintage quarters and two 1930’s-era $1 bills went missing from his home between July 25 and Aug. 1. Hydrocodone was also stolen. The items were valued at $620, according to the report.

The resident told officers his son admitted to taking the car stereo to a pawn shop. Two friends were also involved in the thefts, according to the police report. 

Police verified that the stereo and coins were taken to Plaza Pawn in House Springs. The investigation is ongoing, according to the report.

High Ridge home burglary

A woman acting as the caretaker of her deceased son’s home said several items went missing last week.

A flatscreen TV, sound bar, and handgun were reported stolen from the High Ridge Home to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 1. The items, valued at $1,600, went missing sometime between July 30 and Aug. 1.

Officers found a pair of rubber gloves at the scene, which were taken into evidence. The investigation is ongoing.

Thief drives four-wheeler out of neighborhood

A resident on Carol Park Road in House Springs told police his four-wheeler, valued at $1,000, went missing from his carport on July 29. A witness told officers they saw someone driving the vehicle down Carol Park around 11:30 p.m. without the lights on. The four-wheeler was loaded into a white pick-up truck.
