High Ridge Man, Imperial Acquaintance Charged in Home Burglary

Blake Young, of High Ridge, and another man from Imperial are suspects in a House Springs home burglary that was foiled by a witness.

A High Ridge man and his Imperial acquaintance are facing charges in connection with a home burglary in House Springs.

Blake Young, of the 4700 block of Wilbert Rd. in High Ridge, and Brian Rulo, of the 4700 block of Kirchoff Ln. in Imperial, have been charged with second-degree burglary.

On Sept. 16, Jefferson County Sheriff's officers responded to a call for a burglary in progress in the 4900 block of West Four Ridge Rd. in House Springs, according to court documents. When officers arrived, they found Young, 19, in the home gathering items.

Rulo, 19, told police he dropped Young off at the home, who entered the house through a window, the documents state. Rulo said he parked across the street, and Young let him in through the front door.

Rulo told officers he and Young dismantled a television set they were preparing to steal, court documents state. Rulo then went to his car, and after being confronted by a witness, he fled the scene.

Sheriff's deputies found the television set on the floor and other electronics items gathered, which appeared to be in the process of being stolen, according to the documents. Officers also found a glass smoking pipe with residue believed to have been marijuana on Young.

Second-degree burglary is a class C felony and carries with it a punishment of up to one year in jail or one to 7 years in a state prison and/or up to a $5,000 fine.
