This post was reported and written by Joe Scott.

A High Ridge man faces his fifth driving while intoxicated charge after St. Louis County Police pulled him over on May Valley Lane in Fenton

Michael Sprock was charged Friday with DWI as a chronic offender, a class B felony. He has four previous DWI convictions. St. Louis County Police said an officer pulled Sprock over at 11:52 p.m. Sept. 3 on May Valley Lane near Green Mountain Court for speeding and failure to signal.  The officer said Sprock’s speech was slurred, he had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, he swayed when he walked and his eyes were watery.

The officer said Sprock refused to give a breath sample, and a search warrant for a blood test was obtained.

Sprock was convicted of DWI in 2010 in St. Louis County, and was convicted in 2009 one time each in Fenton, Herculaneum and St. Louis County. Sprock is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Services Center. Bail was set at $50,000.
