Former Valley Park Mayor Charged With Using Wife's Info To Obtain Credit Card

Former Valley Park Mayor Nathan Grellner faces another criminal charge as police said he used his estranged wife’s information to obtain and use a credit card.

St. Louis County Police said Grellner used his wife Aleisha’s name, social security number, date of birth and other information on Feb. 18 to obtain a Visa credit card without her consent or knowledge.

Police said Grellner then used the card to make between $500 and $5,000 in purchases.

Grellner, 28, of the first block of Boyd Avenue in Valley Park, was charged July 19 with identity theft, a felony.

Previously, Grellner was accused of using credit cards issued by the city of Valley Park for his own use. He was charged in September with four counts of fraudulently using credit cards in that case.

In Jefferson County, Grellner faces charges of DWI and assaulting a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest during an incident June 5 with Byrnes Mill police.

The St. Louis Post Dispatch reported that Grellner had been hospitalized in June 2012 for abusing methamphetamine. He resigned as Valley Park Mayor in July 2012.
