F.O.O.L.S. Rush In to Help Fellow Fenton Firefighter

A simple washers competition at a local bar and grill brings together fire departments to raise funds for one of their own.

A charity washers tournament sponsored by FOOLS attracted firefighters and friends of firefighters to d.Dooley's Bar and Grill in Fenton Wednesday as a way to raise funds for a stricken colleague and his family.

Show Me FOOLS and d. Dooley's in Fenton joined forces to help for Captain Steven Grimes, a firefighter who has served the Fenton Fire Department for more than 15 years. Grimes was diagnosed with leukemia and has been unable to work since March 2010.

FOOLS stands for Fraternal Order Of Leatherheads Society. The group takes its name from the iconic leather helmet that firemen used to wear. FOOLS was started in 1995 in Florida and Show Me FOOLS is one of four Missouri chapters.
