Fenton Police Motel Christmas Project a Success

Fenton police officers organized a drive to provide food and toys to families in Fenton Motels on Christmas.

Police Officer Aaron Dilks sends out a big "thank you" to the community for help the St. Louis County Police Department's Fenton Precinct make its Motel Christmas project a success.

Police solicited food and toys to help make Christmas better for families forced to live in motels in Fenton at Christmas.

Dilks said six families with 13 kids were assisted were helped via the donations by the public to the Motel Christmas effort.

"Each adult received two huge food packages and gifts and gift cards for supplies," Dilks said on the Fenton precinct's Facebook page.  "We organized the donated items into 6 family piles then delivered the gifts (two SUV’s full) to each family in the hotels."

Dilks said there were two SUVs packed with gifts for the six families.

I told the families about the overwhelming response from the community wanting to help," Dilks said. "All were thankful and happy there are still people in the world  to care enough to help them out. This was the first time we have adopted families such as this, several people wanted me to get a hold of them next year when I do it again. Next year I think we will need some helper elves."
