Fenton Man Charged With Third DWI After Stop on Hwy. 141

A Fenton man faces a felony charge of driving while intoxicated after police pulled him over June 30 on Highway 141 near Bowles Avenue.

Gregory David Kyburz, 48, of the 400 block of Autumn Peak Drive in Fenton, was charged with driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender. Kyburz has two previous DWI convictions.

St. Louis County Police said an officer pulled Kyburz over at about 2:07 a.m. June 30 on northbound Highway 141 north of Bowles Avenue. An officer said Kyburz was driving a gold, 2008 Dodge Charger and drifted over a sold white line onto the shoulder twice and into a second lane once.

The officer said Kyburz admitted to drinking less than half a beer. Kyburz’ eyes were watery and bloodshot, his speech was slurred and mumbled and there was a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, police said. Kyburz also swayed while standing and staggered when he walked, the officer reported.

He did poorly on a sobriety test and refused a breathalyzer test, according to a court document.
