Exhaustive Situation: Noise Complaints Prompt Muffler Enforcement

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is stepping up enforcement efforts after complaints about loud mufflers on motorcycles.

Several complaints about loud mufflers on motorcycles have prompted the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office to step up noise-related law enforcement.

Officers will issue citations to drivers who don't have a properly attached muffler.

"No person shall drive a vehicle in a manner or condition such that excessive and unnecessary noises are made by its machinery, motor, signaling device, tires, or other parts," according to a release from the Sheriff's Office.
