Engagement Ring Goes Missing While Woman Takes Shower

A white gold, diamond and cubic zirconium engagement ring with a European shank (a flat bottom) turned up missing Aug 24 as a woman took a shower in her home on E. Rainbow Dr., High Ridge. The woman told sheriff's deputies she placed the ring on a bathroom shelf when she took a shower. when she was finished she went to a basement bedroom to get dressed.When she returned to the bathroom she discovered the ring was missing. There were two other people in the house at the time of the incident -- the woman's fiance and his friend, according to the sheriff's deputy report. Both men denied any knowledge of the ring, although one man said he had used the bathroom while the woman was downstairs getting dressed. The incident is still under investigation.

Biltmore Drive, Fenton

A 14-foot enclosed trailer that contained a custom motorcycle was stolen sometime overnight Aug. 25 from a business on Biltmore Drive, Fenton. The trailer and motorcycle, which were located behind the business, were owned by employees of the business, according to the sheriff's report. Two other similar trailers were also nearby the one that is now missing. Neither of those trailers appeared to have been tampered with.

Gravois Road, High Ridge

Two men wearing ski masks and gloves pried their way into a business Aug. 27 on Gravois Road, High Ridge. Video footage showed one man who broke into the business and then immediately flee back outside. The sheriff's deputy report concluded that the man may have had a police scanner, since the time the department was dispatched to the business was identical to the time the man fled from the business.  The video also showed the men were in a black Ford F-150 extended cab pick-up truck with a soft bed cover. An investigation is ongoing.
