Drugs, Explosives, Lingerie Found During Theft Investigation

The following information was provided by the St. Louis County Police Department Fenton Precinct.

Gravois Bluffs

Two people were arrested on stealing and drug charges March 2 at a department store in the 700 block of Gravois Bluffs Boulevard. Police said two suspects left the store without paying for $563 worth of miscellaneous items. One of the suspects was caught on the parking lot and a search found him to be in possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A search of the suspects’ vehicle then turned up a homemade explosive device along with an additional $175 worth of stolen lingerie, police said.

A woman was arrested March 10 for stealing under $500 at a department store in the 700 block of Gravois Bluffs Boulevard. Police said the woman left the store without paying for a pair of earrings.

One person was arrested for fraud March 9 at a discount store in the 600 block of Gravois Bluffs Boulevard. Police said the suspect returned a knife set box and received cash in return. Shortly after the return, employees discovered the box was filled with phone books, police said.

A man was arrested March 7 for stealing under $500 at a discount store in the 600 block of Gravois Bluffs Boulevard. Police said the man left the store without paying for a 19- inch television concealed under his jacket.

A man was arrested March 6 for stealing under $500 at a discount store in the 600 block of Gravois Bluffs Boulevard. Police said the man left the store without paying for three XBox games. As a police officer approached and advised the suspect he was under arrest the fled on foot across the parking lot, police said.

A juvenile was taken into custody March 6 for stealing under $500 and being a minor in possession of alcohol at a grocery store in the first block of Gravois Bluffs Plaza. Police said the juvenile left the store without paying for two bottles of alcohol. The juvenile was charged and released to a guardian, police said.

Three adults and a juvenile were arrested March 1 for stealing over $500 at a department store in the 100 block of Gravois Bluffs Boulevard. Police said the four left the store without paying for 128 items concealed in their shopping cart, under a baby in a car seat.  A search of the cart turned up 94 items of children’s kids clothing, three toy items, three items of men's clothing, four intimate clothing items, six items of women's clothing, nine items of junior clothing, four domestic items, one stationary item and four pairs of shoes for a total of $2,264.81. The juvenile was charged and released to a guardian, police said.

A woman was arrested March 1 for stealing under $500 at a store in the 100 block of Gravois Bluffs Boulevard.  Police said that while an officer was investigating a separate incident he witnessed the woman emptying and concealing the contents of her large purse into the trunk of her vehicle. An investigation revealed she had just shoplifted two arts and craft books and 85 miscellaneous arts and craft items totaling $333.15, police said.

Headland Drive

An employee of a business in the 1600 block of Headland Drive was arrested March 8 for stealing over $500. Police aid the suspect, who worked in accounts payable, has been stealing money from the business since 2006.
