A House Springs woman was transported to the hospital Thursday after the vehicle she was driving was struck by another motorist who ran a red light at Highway 30 and High Ridge Boulevard, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP)  crash report.

Gena Shipton, 51, of House Springs, was attempting to make a left turn from eastbound Highway 30 onto High Ridge Boulevard at about 4 p.m. Thursday when she was hit by a car driven by Christina Loretta, 25, of High Ridge. The MSHP report stated Loretta's vehicle "failed to stop at a red light."

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Shipton was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Medical Center with moderate injuries. Loretta was uninjured, according to the MSHP. Both vehicles were totalled in the crash.
