Burglar Leaves Behind Pink and Red Barrette

S. Golden Circle Drive, High Ridge

Someone left behind a pink and red hair barrette from the bedroom of a burglarized home Aug. 22 on S. Golden Circle Drive, High Ridge. Entry to the home was made by forcing open  bathroom window. Missing were a silver Jane Seymour earrings and ring set, a silver "Snowflake" necklace, a silver Open Heart necklace, a Silver Angel necklace, two pairs of diamond earrings, a wedding ring set, a 2005 Dodge Durango key, $500 in coins including a 1916 penny and a 1921 penny. The total value of the property was set at $3,618.

The homeowner said she left the house at noon and returned at 6 p.m. when she saw the pink and red hair barrette on the bedroom floor and realized someone had been in her home. All of the missing items had been in the bedroom. The forced bathroom window was in the master bathroom, adjacent to the master bedroom, and had been left open by the burglar.

Ozark Drive, High Ridge

A 1988 Chevrolet King Cab four-door truck was stolen sometime overnight Aug. 28-29 from a home on Ozark Drive, High Ridge. The truck is yellow with a white stripe and a hood scoop.  The victim told a sheriff's deputy she had stored her vehicle at a friend's house since it did not run properly and she did not have space on her own property to store it. The friend contacted her Aug. 29 and informed the truck owner that the truck had been stolen overnight.

Antire Road, High Ridge

A .22 rifle and a 20-round magazine were stolen Aug. 20 from a home on Antire Road, High Ridge. Someone forced their way into the home through a garage entry door and removed the items from a bedroom closet. No other items were removed from the residence. The value of the stolen items was set at $150.
