A Flurry of Overturned Vehicle Accidents This Week Send 3 to Hospital

The accidents were handled by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

There was a flurry of crashes involving overturned vehicles on Highway 30 this week, sending three Jefferson County drivers to the hospital, according to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

On Tuesday there were two crashes.

Ginny Gregory, 51, of Cedar Hill, was driving northbound on Scenic View Drive at Highway 30 at about 6 a.m. Tuesday when her vehicle travelled off the left side of the road and overturned. Gregory's 2007 Jeep Liberty was determined to be a total loss. She was transported to St. Anthony's Medical Center with injuries described as moderate.

Later Tuesday, at about noon, John D. Stiefferman, 55, of Dittmer, was headed eastbound on Highway 30 and lost control of his 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle as he prepared to make a left turn near High Ridge Boulevard, according to the MSHP. The motorcycle overturned, ejecting Stiefferman. He was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center with injuries described as moderate.

On Thursday, Phebe M. Lurtz, 52, of Dittmer, was headed eastbound on Highway 30 at about 4:30 a.m. when her 2002 Buick Century veered off the right side of the road and overturned when she attempted to avoid a deer, the MSHP said.

Lurtz was said to have moderate injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to St. Anthony Medical Center.
