2 High Ridge Men Charged in Regions Bank Heist

Two men, arrested in connection with a bank robbery in St. Louis, Admitted to their involvement in the Regions Bank robbery, police said.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued warrants on both John D. Morris, 49, of the 2800 block of Maplewood Court, High Ridge, and Kenneth Bentrup, 48, both of the 2800 block of Maplewood Court, High Ridge, each for one count of robbery in the second degree, according to a news release from the St. Louis County Police Department. The bond amount for each is $35,000.

Both Morris and Bentrup were attempting to rob the Lindell Bank, 3921 Hampton Ave., St. Louis, and were arrested as a result, according to the release.

St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department notified detectives from St. Louis County Police Bureau of Crimes Against Persons of the arrest. Subsequently, St. Louis County police detectives interviewed both Morris and Bentrup in reference to their involvement in the robbery of the Regions Bank, 999 Bowles Ave., in unincorporated St. Louis County, near Fenton. In the Regions Bank heist, two men reportedlky handed the teller a note and got away with an undetermined amount of cash.

Both Morris and Bentrup admitted to their involvement in this robbery, police said.
