16-Year-Old High Ridge Male Goes Airborne in Car, Then Airlifted to Hospital

A Friday night accident in Cedar Hill sends teen to hospital via helicopter, with serious injuries.

William Ivy, a 16-year-old driver from High Ridge, was traveling northbound near Route B and Cedar Hill Road at 8:15 p.m. Friday when his 2001 Saturn traveled off the right side of the roadway in Jefferson County. His car struck a drainage pipe and became airborne, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report. 

Ivy's car then crossed Cedar Hill Road and struck a utility pole, causing the Saturn to overturn.

Ivy was seriously injured in the accident, and was taken to Mercy Hospital via an air evacuation helicopter, according to the report.

He was wearing a seat belt. His car was totaled in the accident and towed from the scene.

There were no passengers or other motorists involved in the accident.
