Randy Means Was Just Being Hospitable

Fenton man honored for his thoughtfulness in helping a frazzled family.

Randy Means, of Fenton, was among nine people named as Hospitality Heroes last week during the St. Louis Convention nd Visitors Commissions annual meeting and hospitality hero recognition program.

Means is the night auditor at Holiday Inn, Forest Park, woking an 11 p.m.- 7 a.m. shift. Early one morning when Means was working the numbers, a pair of frazzled parents and their children came into the hotel. After engaging the couple in conversation, Means learned they were the parents of a recently abducted, and found, little girl. Deciding they needed a break, Means convinced hotel management to provide their room free of charge. Then, after his work shift ended, Means went to a nearby store and purchased games and toy for the kids with his own money. The mother was touched by Means' kindness when he presented  her with the basket of gifts.
