Happy Birthday St. Louis!

Here's what's happening today.

Good morning Fenton and High Ridge!

Birthday:  On Feb. 15, 1764 St. Louis was founded as a fur trading post by the Auguste Chouteau. It was named after King Louis XV and his patron saint Louis IX.

Residents aren't expected to face towards the Gateway Arch and sing Happy Birthday to our big city neighbor, but if you do, let Patch know and we'll come and help blow out the candles.

Tell Me a Story: If you venture out today with little ones in tow, there's a story time half hour at 11 a.m. at the of the Jefferson County Library.

Remember the Maine: Another historic event also took place in 1898 on this day when the U.S.S. Maine blew up in Havana harbor, an event that touched off the Spanish American War.
