Appointments to the Jefferson County Board of Equalization and Terms

I just happened to notice some upcoming appointments to the Jeff County Board of Equalization and Terms and did a little investigation.  Following are the MO State Statutes that we in Jeff County go by when appointing people to this particular Board.

Statute 138.011 - No Member of any board of equalization in any county with a charter form of government shall be an official of any city, county, or an employee of any school district within the county.  Each member shall have some level of experience as determined by the governing authority of the county as a real estate broker, real estate appraiser, home builder, property developer, lending officer, or investor in real estate before their appointment to the board.

Since some people are already on a Council, I believe this means that some of the pending appointees are disqualified - too bad!  I have to ask, do you really want "some people" setting the value of your house and how qualified are they to do that?
