The Race for Washington: A Beauty Queen Takes the Lead"

With Trump and Huckabee out of the picture, are we looking at a possible President Romney? Will Palin come out on top? Or will Obama return for four more years?

As the deadline approaches, the GOP primary seems to be shaping up nicely. The South Carolina debates were lackluster at best, but the small fries that showed up showed America what they were made of. Herman Cain has now moved closer to the front lines, and people are beginning to take Ron Paul more seriously. However, is this really a race between the Libertarian and the Pizza Boy, or has the GOP forgotten it's major players and the real front runner to beat, President Obama?

Now that two of the top names have dropped out of the Republican race (Trump and Huckabee) it is no secret that Romney stands to take the ticket. With a Perot-like Ron Paul and the determination of Mr. Cain, however, there is a much stronger candidate who might take the cake. It almost seems like many people have forgotten the often controversial former governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin.

In this race, she seems to be the tortoise. She isn't as widely popular as Romney with independents, and though she is a household name, she has a lot to prove. However, Sarah stands a pretty good chance of taking home the GOP nomination. Romney may be popular, but McCain and Paul appeal to the independent and middle ground republicans that still aren't sure about Sarah. If Romney can't win those votes, then he's competing with the mother of modern conservatism for the base conservative votes. That doesn't shape up too well for the Pro-Choice, RomneyCare, Gay Rights activist from Massachusetts who lost miserably to McCain in 2008 for his lackluster personality and his social liberalism. Perfect hair won't get you anywhere in a race against an Alaskan beauty queen.

So, 2012 is setting up as an interesting battlefield for the ticket. When push comes to shove, Americans will not be voting for the popular candidate or for the "most electable." This time, Americans will vote for the candidate that will be able to waltz into the White House, repeal every act of the Obama Administration, and flip the liberal left on its head. It's up to us to help and support the candidate most capable of doing this.
