Downtown St. Louis Idiotarod 2011

This event is similar to the Alaskan tradition of the Iditarod where dogs pull a sled and musher across the Iditarod Trail. The St. Louis version replaces the dogs with people, the sleds with shopping carts and the race is through the streets of downtown St. Louis.  Teams of five stop at designated checkpoints and complete challenges to win prizes. One of the 'virtual' challenges is collecting food for a local charity, Operation Food Search. Corporate Cup is Friday, open competition is Saturday. Check in at 11 a.m., race at noon. Registration deadline for teams is 5 pm Feb. 23. Must be 21 to participate.
