Hidden Bridges of the Meramec

Century-old railroad trestles have an ethereal look from below.

When the waters on the Meramec River are high, we like to travel up river towards Eureka, due to the fact that this part of the river becomes impassable with most boats at normal levels. We discovered the two bridges (railroad trestles) during the flood of 2008 and visit them a few times a year. At normal river levels, the bridges can be visited on foot. Both are near a century old, and appear to be in excellent condition. They are absolutely beautiful viewed from below.
