Foolish Pleasure is the name of a boat... a boat that a crew of 4 of us take on Meramec boating adventures every Wednesday evening, and have been doing this since the flood of 2008.

We always start our journey at the Meramec Marina. When driving down the road to the marina the rest of the world is left behind and the adventure begins. We visit with friends, load up the boat, and off we go. We explore the Meramec from the Mississippi to Eureka, very much depending on the water levels. Sometimes we catch a train going over at sunset in Valley Park or Arnold, trees loaded with white egrets, eagles nesting, a blue heron feeding, bridge swallows, schools of Asian Carp, early 1900s train trestles, deer crossing the river and of course some of the most incredible sunsets. All within minutes of where we live!
This week I give you candid portraits of the crew and the boat.
