My last blog was about our boat, "Foolish Pleasure" and it's crew. This time it will be about passengers that tag along for our weekly adventures.
I love shooting portriats like this. The natural light at the end of the day, the water acts as a huge reflector, and the subjects are relaxed and candid. I love when we are moving and the wind blows their hair, or lifts the brim of a hat. They usually are a little uncomfortable at first but get used to the big lens pointing at them. That's when the magic happens and I capture their spirit. Sometimes it takes me a year to get the right expression in the right light at the right moment. Sometimes I get it in just a few shots.
Here are a few of my favorites and more of the same to come next time.
