Mission: Clean Stream & GM Earth Day

Two Great Events. One Great Day.

Come early to the festival at the GM plant in Wentzville if you want to see the mission clean stream workers off. Explore work by local artisans. Learn how to get connected to, and preserve nature with activities like making upcycled crafts, exploring a model stream and seeing how pollution moves into our rivers and streams. Also on hand will be vendors, and organizations that can help you or your family make a real difference in the world. There will also be plenty of hands-on activities with a particular emphasis on keeping very young children occupied while their older siblings are out on the creek. New this year is the Green Heroes program. Kids can earn a very special award by learning about the environment at the festival.

Be one of the first to see a very special Chevy Sonic from Poage Chevrolet.  All adult Mission: Clean Stream participants will be given a raffle ticket upon registration. Raffle tickets should be dropped off at the festival. The winner will be announced at Race for the Rivers on August 23, 2014. Follow the car using #wheresmysonic

The Stream Trash Art (START) project, created by Ralph Rollins will be happening on site. You can watch artists use recycled materials and salvaged metal pulled from the streams to create new works of eco-art.

Mission: Clean Stream

Volunteers from St. Charles County and the communities of Cottleville, Dardenne Prairie, Lake St. Louis, O'Fallon, St. Charles, St. Peters and Wentzville join with Greenway Network and Missouri River Relief to remove trash from local streams and lakes. Mission: Clean Stream started as a joint effort to pick up litter from publicly accessible creek areas. Today, Mission: Clean Stream has evolved into a challenge, or charge, for thousands to do some serious damage to the amount of two hours.
