St. Louis Woman to Compete on 'The Amazing Race'

Caitlin King, who was a standout soccer player when she attended Nerinx, and her best friend Brittany Fletcher will team up on the 21st edition of the reality TV show, which premieres Sept. 30.

A Nerinx Hall High School graduate, who was a standout soccer player at the school, will be competing in the 21st edition "The Amazing Race," which begins Sept. 30 on CBS.

Caitlin King, who now lives in Atlanta, GA, and her best friend Brittany Fletcher, of Chicago, IL, will be racing against 10 other teams in the Emmy-winning reality TV series. The grand prize this season is the largest in the show's history — $2 million.

For those unfamiliar with the show, the series is comprised of 11 two-member teams who compete against each other in a series of challenges around the world, according to the show's website. Teams who are the farthest behind are gradually eliminated, and the first team to arrive at the final destination wins the cash.

The Post-Dispatch article also noted that King's goal in participating in the race is "to prove that blond girls can also have brains, strength and be mentally tough."
