Rockwood South Hosts New Drug Education Program

Attend a community forum from the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse on March 7 to discuss heroin and prescription pill drug use.

The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (NCADA) – St. Louis Area will participate in a community forum Thursday, March 7,  7-8:15 p.m. at Rockwood South Middle School in Fenton to address what has been referred to as “an epidemic of heroin and prescription drug use by young people in the St. Louis area," according to a news release from NCADA.

Drugs & Your Family is a new program from the Curiosity + Heroin: Not-Even-Once public awareness campaign that began in early 2011.  The purpose of this new program is to educate middle school parents and youth about the dangers of legal drug use at an early age, illicit drug use at any age, and to continue building public awareness of drug abuse in the St. Louis region.

This meeting is free and open to the public.  Speakers will be on hand from NCADA and the St. Louis County Police Department.
