Roads Close in Fenton as Meramec River Strays From its Banks

The River Road was closed Tuesday afternoon as water covered its intersection with Yarnell and Larkin Williams roads.

The City of Fenton closed the River Road this afternoon at Yarnell and Larkins Williams roads as the flood levels along the fast-running Meramec seeped onto the Meramec Greenway. The river level was at 20.46 feet at Valley Park.

The Meramec is expected to crest at 23.9 feet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Valley Park gauge, according to the National weather Service. There is no NWS river level gauge in Fenton.

Tuesday afternoon also saw the river begin to flood Springdale Pool and Park.
