Overnight Snow Extends Winter's Grip

The week ahead looks grim and grimmer for those who long for snow-free days and temperatures above freezing.

In what has been a familiar pattern, several inches of snow were added to winter's accumulation overnight Saturday in Fenton and High Ridge.

At least there are no worries about calling off school or dealing with rush hour gridlock as the Saturday snowfall means residents can relax and "enjoy" the snow-shoveling chores.

For the week ahead, the National weather Service is calling for a 50 percent chance of snow Sunday night and a 30 percent chance Monday. No snow is forecast Tuesday but the low temperaturs is pegged at 9 degrees. There is a chance of snow again Wednesday with a low of 5 degrees, and Thursday the low temperature is expected to be -4 degrees.
