Northwest Lion Boosters Collect Supplies for Joplin

Booster club and football players try to fill a Dodge Moving and Storage truck with clothing and household supplies for the families stricken by a massive tornado last month.

The Dodge Moving and Storage truck was scheduled to depart this morning after members of the Northwest Lions Football Boosters Club spent two days collecting supplies for the tornado stricken families in Joplin, MO.

It was plenty hot on the Shop n' Save parking lot in High Ridge as booster club members and football players collected clothing, household goods, a pallet of wet wipes and even for new automobile tires for distribution to Joplin.

The relief drive was hatched after a conversation between football coach Scott Guerling and booster club leader Denise Oehler to provide a lesson in community support and volunteerism for the members of the football team.
