Northwest Library Adds Another Checkout Station

Read about the latest change at the Jefferson County Library - Northwest Branch, which is located in High Ridge.

A new self checkout station has been installed at the Jefferson County Library - Northwest Branch.

The library already had two stations, but increasing demand led to the installation of a third, notes a Feb. 23 news release from the library.

“Patrons like the option of checking materials out themselves,” stated Cindy Hayes, branch manager, in the release. “They don’t have to wait in line when staff are busy registering new users, or doing other tasks which can be time consuming.”

The library gained funding for the station from a grant. It became available through funds from the Library Services and Technology Act appropriated by Congress and administered by the Institution of Museum and Library Services and the Missouri Secretary of State, notes the news release.
