Cajun Cooking, Bluegrass Music, Edible Revolution Among Weekend Offerings

There are a variety of weekend events for those who wat to "Get Out" this weekend.

1. CRYSTAL CAJUN COOK-OFF

  • Where/When: 5595 Grand Dr., World’s Fair Pavilion in Forest Park; Saturday, noon-4 p.m.
  • Why Go: Sample Cajun/Creole specialties, enjoy free unlimited samples of Bud Light beer, Southern Comfort Hurricanes and soft drinks.
  • Pricing: $30 in advance, $35 at the door

2. FALLIN' WAY AT STRATFORD BAR & GRILL

  • Where/When: 800 S. Highway Dr.; Saturday, 9 p.m.-1 a.m.
  • Why Go: Party to one of Jefferson County’s own bands with their repertoire of everything from classic rock to country and soul.
  • Pricing: $5

3. 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL

  • Where/When: The Fox Theatre, 527 N. Grand Blvd.; Sunday, 2 p.m.
  • Why Go: This musical comedy is based on the hit film  “9 to 5” and features Dolly Parton’s new Tony Awards and Grammy-nominated score.
  • Pricing: $24-$66

4. SPRING 2011 ST. LOUIS GARDEN BLITZ: THE EDIBLE REVOLUTION

  • Where/When: Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Blvd.; Saturday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Why Go: Learn about various aspects of horticulture in this one-day event with a virtual smorgasbord of workshops, speakers and informational booths. 
  • Pricing: $80 Garden members, $96  non-members

5. PICKIN SUNDAYS OPEN BLUEGRASS JAM
