Feed My People Sets 50-Cent Sale, Extends Hours

Local food pantry provide wide range of services.

, one of the largest and longest serving food pantries and help centers in South St. Louis County and Northern Jefferson County, will extend its Thursday shopping hours to 7 p.m. at its Lemay Thrift Store beginning July 7.

Roy Wunsch, thrift store manager, said "the extended evening shopping on Thursday gives those folks who work a chance to get by and take advantage of our ever changing assortment and array of low cost items."

In addition to the announcement of extended Thursday hours, FMP also announced the organization's semi-annual clearance sale July 5-23 will feature most items in the stores at 50 cents.

"This is a great opportunity to stock up on clothing for the family, toys, games, books and household items," Wunsch said. Both the Lemay & High Ridge locations will host the sale. A $25 gift certificate will be given away to during the sale.

Additionally gift certificates in any denomination, along with grocery cards, are available for purchase through our thrift store.

In its 29th year, Feed My People serves the poor and hungry in the St. Louis community with more than 25 programs. In recent years the organization has seen the number of clients they serve grow. Last year FMP handed out more than $3 million dollars in food assistance.

In addition to the food pantry and help center, FMP's low cost Thrift Store is open to the public six days a week in Lemay. The High Ridge location serves customers five days a week.
