Dinner Auction Highlights Activities Friday

Good morning Fenton and High Ridge.

Chamber Party: The Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce is set to celebrate with diamonds, chocolate and wine at its annual Dinner Auction, appropriately titled "Diamonds, Chocolates and Wine." The shindig starts at 6 p.m. at Andre's South banquet center.

No school at Northwest: School is out today in the Northwest School District as teachers have a professional development day. And there's no school Monday either, as it is Presidents Day.

More on Presidents: Speaking of Presidents, it was on this date in 1801 that Thomas Jefferson became the first President elected by the U.S. House of Representatives, which broke an electoral tie between him and Aaron Burr. Jefferson also was the first President inaugurated in Washington D.C.

What's the Weather?:  there will be some patchy fog in the area before 7 a.m. Friday before things turn sunny and the temps rise to about 53 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Clouds will roll in by Friday night with the temperature dropping to 35.
