First we had lunch at Vernon’s BBQ, which isn’t technically on the Loop, but it’s near by. The BBQ joint is run by a Super Smoker’s veteran and opened last February. I had reviewed the place when they opened for Patch.com and brought my samples home for the family. Ryan’s been bugging me to take him back ever since.
Next, we worked off a few calories by strolling the Loop. We had plans to visit Fitz’s for ice cream floats and needed to make room!

We checked out the Delmar Loop Solar System scale model. It starts at the Moonrise Hotel and runs 2,800 feet to Cicero’s. Uranus was near Fitz’s and across the street from Blueberry Hill. The model starts with the sun (at the Moonrise Hotel) and ends with Neptune. Poor Pluto was demoted a few years before the walk was installed, so it didn’t make it.
