High Ridge Jewelry Store Closing

Stop Hirsh Bros. Jewelers through May 24 for discounts on jewelry and display pieces.

Hirsh Bros. Jewelers' "first sale in history" is also its last--the store's owners are holding a retirement sale before they close on May 25.

The jewelry store at 1609 Gravois Rd. has been in business in the St. Louis area for more than 40 years.

All merchandise, including jewelry displays and other fixtures, is marked up to 70 percent off, with additional in-store discounts, according to the store's sale flyer. The store will remain open during regular business hours this week, and will close for good Friday, May 24 at 6 p.m.

Hirsh is not the only business getting ready to close shop. The Big K at 4560 Gravois Village Ctr. began liquidating its merchandise last month. The store is scheduled to close in mid-June.

The couple who own Hirsh Bros. made headlines last December when they were the targets of a home invasion and subsequent car chase. Derrick Stewart was charged with multiple counts of robbery, kidnapping, assault and armed criminal action following the incident, KSDK reports.
