Fenton Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident at Hwy. 141 and Gravois

A section of Highway 141 was shut down around 1 p.m., Tuesday after a fatal pedestrian accident.

35-year-old Matthew Griesheimer was struck by a pickup truck while waiting to cross southbound at Hwy. 141 and Gravois, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol

The truck was pulling a trailer, KMOV reports.

 "... It appeared Griesheimer waited for the pickup to pass and then continued walking, not realizing the truck was pulling a trailer," according to the report.

MoDOT closed all northbound lanes on 141, and traffic was directed by the Fenton Precinct of the St. Louis County Police.

Responders took the man to St. Anthony's Hospital with injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

The truck driver, 47-year-old William Thomas, was not harmed.
