Big Change Comes to Fenton Days This Year

This addition to the citywide celebration follows the successful event last year, when attendees celebrated Fenton's 175th birthday.

Last year, the City Of Fenton celebrated its 175th birthday with a big Fenton Days celebration in Olde Towne Fenton that included the dedication of the Meramec River Bridge, food and drink vendors, a washers tournament, local bands and fireworks. It was such a success that it was decided to do it all again this year, without the bridge dedication, of course.

But there will be a new wrinkle - a Fenton Days parade that will kick off the festivities. The Fenton Days 2013 committee hopes to attract individuals, groups and local organizations who want to celebrate the city and participate in a good time in the Olde Towne.

There is even a website for Fenton Days at fentondays.com. When all of the logistics are worked out on a parade participation form, it will be available on the website. Participation is free and anyone is welcome to apply for a spot in the parade, according to Angela Reynolds, of USBank, who is organizing the parade for the Fenton Days event. The parade will start at 10 a.m. and the rest of the festivities will begin at 11 a.m.
