Northwest Library Sets December Programs for Teens
A wide range of events includes cookie exchange, art club, chess club and craft-making.
The Jefferson County Library, Northwest Branch, has planned a variety of events in December for teens, including:
Teen Advisory Board
Tuesday, Dec. 4, 7-7:30 p.m.: Ages 8-18.

Cookie and Ornament Exchange
Saturday, Dec. 8, 11 a.m.- noon: Bring a batch of homemade cookies, along with the recipe card, so others can try the recipe at home. Also, bring an ornament. If store-bought spend no more than $5, or make a handmade ornament. Sign up is required. Ages 8-18.

Teen Art Club
Tuesday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m.- 8 p.m.: A local artist will be teaching different forms of art, including anime, still life, and more. It is a beginner’s class. You need only bring a sketch pad and pencil are the only materials attendees need to bring. Ages 8-16.
Chess Club
Thursday, Dec. 13, 4:30-5:30 p.m.: Pre-teens and teens are welcome to come and play. Anyone who knows how to play chess and is willing to teach others how to play would be greatly appreciated. Sign up required. Ages 8-18.
Yarn Christmas Tree
Tuesday, December 18, 7pm-8pm: Add a special touch of your own to the holiday season by making a miniature Christmas tree from yarn. Sign up required. Ages 8-18.
