Northwest Library Branch Receives Colorful, Fun Furniture Donation

Memory of long-time High Ridge resident and library lover lives on.

Colorful, book-shaped, children's furniture is now on display at the Northwest Branch of the Jefferson County Library.

The furniture, which cost more than $5,000, was dedicated to the memory of Marguerite "Margie" Davidson, a long-time, High Ridge resident and supporter of the library. Davidson passed away in November. Her family requested that instead of flowers, mourners donate to the library she loved.

"Mom loved the kids and the library," said Jimmy Johnson, Davidson's son.

The children's library selected the furniture.

"We've been looking at it for a long time, but didn't have the money to buy it," said Cindy Hayes, the library's branch manager.

Hayes said Davidson's family members donated additional funds to the library to make the furniture purchase possible.
